How to use MGDesktop

In order to avoid damage system and data on you machine, we made a CD-ROM image of the demo system which will be booted and loaded into the memory only.

If you want to get the CD-ROM from us, please contact us: sales@minigui.com. We will send you MGDesktop V2.6 CD-ROM and many other additional materials (includes MiniGUI documentations, MiniGUI developing packages and some applications based on MiniGUI).

  • First, download the MGDesktop V2.6 Demo image. The size of the image is 35MB. If you would like to check whether the image is complete or not, here is a checking file to be downloaded. Click here to download this file.

    For your convenience, we have removed the documents of MiniGUI to cut down the image size. To download or read the online documents please visit here.

  • Burn file mgdesktop.iso into a CD-ROM.

    • Booting MGDesktop:

  • Boot the machine from the CD-ROM made by yourself or got from us.;
  • Then you will see the Feynman company logo and the booting routine will wait for your commands. Read the information shown below the logo and hit "Enter" key to continue the booting process.

    • Note: Only PS/2 compatible and USB mice are supported in MGDesktop environment.

    Networking Configuration

    During the MGDesktop was booting, it will ask you to configure networking which is required by running browsers like Opera and mSpider. Follow the steps in the tutorial program to configure your preferences. Here you could only use Tab key to make a selection.
    If your machine is connected to Internet, hit "Y" button when you see this window; Otherwise, hit "N" button. You can run "Setup" from "Start menu" or "Taskbar" to configure the networking.
    If your administrator has assigned an IP address for your computer, please choose "Static IP". Or You can choose "DHCP" if the DHCP service is provided. Then hit "Next" button to configure the IP of this machine.
    Configure the domain and DNS of the machine, and then hit the "Finish" button.

    After configured successfully, you will see a flash movie, and MGDdektop will in your sight. You could run all applications through "Start menu". To learn what effect does every application shows, Please read here.

    Input Method

    MGDesktop V2.0 support English and Chinese input method. Press left Ctrl key to change the input method between English and Chinese. Press Shift + Ctrl to change the different Chinese input method.

    When the IME bar change to the following state, you are using English input methord.
